While the most popular time to visit the Maroon Bells is during autumn peak colors, summer wildflower season is a close second. Wildflowers are in peak bloom during mid to late July. Typically, the best flowers can be found near the north or east side of Maroon Lake. In this image, I’ve found a patch of Fireweed flowers and have included them in the foreround with the Bells standing tall in the background. Shooting wildflowers during sunrise or early morning is the ideal time to shoot at this location.
